Microwave Design
Wireless Consulting Services, LLC offers point to point microwave design utilizing the Pathloss software by CTE. Microwave has been used to carry large amounts of voice and data over long distances in a cost effective and reliable manner for a number of years and has recently increased in demand due to the expansion of wireless data services.

We have completed designs for numerous clients in both the unlicensed and licensed frequency bands with a variety of options including space diversity, hot-standby, and ring configurations while using a number of vendors. The design procedure is the same for both licensed and unlicensed hops. The first step in the design of any hop is to complete a centerline and reliability study. This will determine if the path is feasible, the calculated reliability after taking the effects of rain and atmospheric conditions in account, and the required heights. Once it has been determined that a path is practical a final calculation is completed that takes the individual characteristics of each vendors equipment into account. If required, a field survey can also be completed to verify the heights of any obstructions at the critical points of the path.

If the hop is unlicensed it is ready to be installed and brought into service. If it is licensed, we will work with either Comsearch or Micronet to distribute the PCN , resolve any objections, and file all required FCC documentation before installation and test.
